About a boy

Book/ Film: About a boy
Genre: Drama
Author/ Director: The brothers Chris Weitz and Paul Weitz.
Characters/ Actors: Hugh Grant, Nicholas Hoult and Toni Colette.
“About a boy” is a beautiful movie that is adapted from the Nick Hornby's best-selling novel also called “About a boy”. It tells the powerful story of a young, rich, jobless man named Will Lightman (played by Hugh Grant) who meets a lonely boy named Marcus Brewer (played by Nicholas Hoult). We can appreciate nice scenarys from London and the tipical English accents.

Will has never faced any responsibility and he behaves like a boy despite being 30 years old. He meets Marcus in a very hard moment for him, his own mother has just tried to commit suicide. No matter what, Marcus tries to make her happy and keep her alive. Will’ll become essential in Marcus’ life and will end up being part of his family. Curiously, Marcus will teach Will more values than he has never known before.

This wonderful movie counts with an exceptional cast. Hugh Grant and Nicholas Hoult have an undeniable chemistry that makes us forget they’re acting and we believe everything we’re watching.

The background music plays a very important role.Playing both old and modern songs, the movie is perfectly accompanied by great soundtracks. “Shake Ya Ass" performed by Mystikal, takes part of an hilarious scene which could’t have been made without it.

I recommend this movie to any cine buff or just anyone who enjoys watching good performances. The excepcional plot won’t let you down and I can assure you that you will enjoy it from the very beginning to the end.
